Spa Therapist

1.0               Job Summary

The Spa Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to our guests. They must have a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities, posses a general understanding of body treatments and be willing to train in our spa’s specific massage and body treatment offerings. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our guests.

2.0               Key Responsibilities

• • Client Consultation:

    • Conduct thorough consultations with clients to understand their specific needs, preferences, and any health conditions.
    • Recommend appropriate treatments and products based on the client’s needs and goals.

  • Treatment Services:

    • Provide a variety of spa services, such as massages (Swedish, Kechmara, hot stone, etc.), body treatments (body scrubs, wraps), facials, manicures, pedicures, and other specialty treatments.
    • Ensure all treatments are performed to the highest standard and tailored to meet the individual needs of clients.

  • Product Knowledge:

    • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all spa services, products, and pricing.
    • Promote and sell spa products and services, providing clients with professional advice and recommendations.

  • Sanitation and Cleanliness:

    • Maintain a clean and well-stocked treatment room.
    • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
    • Sterilize and sanitize equipment and tools after each use.

  • Client Interaction:

    • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting clients warmly, making them feel welcome, and addressing any concerns they may have.
    • Follow up with clients post-treatment to ensure satisfaction and address any further needs.

  • Administrative Duties:

    • Maintain accurate client records, including treatment details and client preferences.
    • Schedule and confirm appointments, manage client bookings, and handle any scheduling changes or cancellations.
    • Process payments and manage billing, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and issuing receipts.

  • Professional Development:

    • Stay up-to-date with the latest spa treatments, products, and industry trends.
    • Participate in continuous education and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

3.0               Qualifications

Certification or diploma in massage therapy, cosmetology, or a related field. Previous experience in a similar role in a spa or wellness center. Proficiency in various massage techniques and spa treatments. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Sales skills to promote and sell spa services and products. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with client information. Professional demeanor and appearance. High level of physical stamina and fitness to perform various treatments. Compassionate, empathetic, and customer-oriented.
