Job Summary

The Halal Executive is responsible for ensuring that all operations, products, and services comply with Halal standards set by Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) and other relevant authorities. This role involves managing Halal certification, audits, documentation, and staff awareness to maintain continuous compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Halal Compliance Management

  • Ensure all processes comply with Halal requirements (ingredients, handling, storage, preparation).

  • Monitor daily operations to ensure no cross-contamination with non-Halal items.

  • Act as the internal Halal compliance officer.

2. Halal Certification & Renewal

  • Manage application, renewal, and documentation for Halal certification.

  • Liaise with JAKIM or State Religious Departments (JAIN).

  • Ensure timely renewal and avoid certification lapse.

3. Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain Halal files, SOPs, and supporting documents.

  • Ensure all suppliers have valid Halal certifications.

  • Keep updated records for audit purposes.

4. Internal & External Audits

  • Conduct internal Halal audits regularly.

  • Prepare for external audits by authorities.

  • Address non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.

5. Supplier & Ingredient Verification

  • Verify Halal status of raw materials and suppliers.

  • Ensure all suppliers are certified and approved.

6. Staff Training & Awareness

  • Conduct Halal awareness training for staff.

  • Educate employees on Halal procedures and importance.

  • Ensure all departments follow Halal guidelines.

7. Liaison & Communication

  • Act as the main contact between the company and Halal authorities.

  • Coordinate with departments such as Kitchen, Purchasing, and QA.

8. Continuous Improvement

  • Keep updated with latest Halal regulations and standards.

  • Propose improvements to strengthen Halal compliance system
