DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and interact with hotel guests in a friendly, professional manner. Provide personalized recommendations and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes or customized drink orders. Maintain a clean and organized bar area.
  • Monitor and manage bar inventory, including ordering supplies, restocking, and keeping track of inventory levels to ensure availability of ingredients and minimize waste.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and liquor control regulations. Check identification to verify guests are of legal drinking age.
  • Co - ordinates with the bus person, kitchen staff, bar staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including regular cleaning and sanitation tasks or directed by the supervisor. 
  • Accurately process guest payments, handle cash and credit transactions, and provide change as needed.
  • Informs guests about the special items for the day and the changes in menu if any.
  • Recommends food and beverages to the guest and also try to upsell.
  • Takes food and beverage orders from the guest.
  • Issue receipts, accept payments and return the correct change. 
  • Punch the order on the POS machine and make sure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food. Eg: No Garlic, less spicy etc., without egg etc.
  • Communicates to the guest and provide assistance with their queries.
  • Serves food and beverage to the guest as per the course of order.
  • Be attentive to guests.
  • Promptly respond to guest with any additional request.
  • Remove cutleries, replenish utensils, refill glasses etc. 
  • Properly open and pour wine at the tableside. 
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently. .
  • Must be familiar with basic cooking skills.
  • Assist bus persons with stocking and maintaining the restaurant stock levels.
  • Help to answer the telephone and perform financial transactions.
  • Print closing report and pass the cash to the front office / accounts department.
  • Tally the Credit Card settlements for the day with the batch closing report from EDC machine.
  • Close the shift on the POS terminal.

 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to communicate in English (written and spoken) and other languages. Able to ensure bar is operating with adequate stocks. Bartenders will be responsible to prepare and serve drinks to customers and able to mix and match ingredients in order to create classic and innovative drinks in accordance with customers’ needs and expectations.

The purpose of this position is to interact with the hotel guests and ensure they have a great experience at the BAR or lounge.

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education

Minimum SPM or equivalent.

Experience

At least 1-2 years’ experience as a bartender in a F&B outlet. Experience in bar inventory, cocktail mixing and Point of Sales.
