Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Greets guests and presents them with the menu.
  2. Informs guests about the special items for the day and the changes in menu if any.
  3. Recommends food and beverages to the guest and also try to upsell.
  4. Takes food and beverage orders from the guest.
  5. Issue receipts, accept payments and return the correct change. 
  6. Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor. 
  7. Punch the order on the POS machine and make sure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food. Eg: No Garlic, less spicy etc., without egg etc.
  8. Communicates to the guest and provide assistance with their queries.
  9. Co - ordinates with the bus person, kitchen staff, bar staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
  10. Serves food and beverage to the guest as per the course of order.
  11. Be attentive to guests.
  12. Promptly respond to guest with any additional request.
  13. Remove cutleries, replenish utensils, refill glasses etc. 
  14. Properly open and pour wine at the tableside. 
  15. Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently. .
  16. Must be familiar with basic cooking skills.
  17. Assist bus persons with stocking and maintaining the restaurant stock levels.
  18. Help to answer the telephone and perform financial transactions.
  19. Print closing report and pass the cash to the front office / accounts department.
  20. Tally the Credit Card settlements for the day with the batch closing report from EDC machine.
  21. Close the shift on the POS terminal.


    SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Must be able to communicate in English (written and spoken) and other languages.

     

    EDUCATION

    Minimum SPM or equivalent.
