Job Description

Main Duties

-Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with halal requirements where applicable.

-Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.

-Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.

-Conduct market research to identify pricing trends, halal-certified supplier options, and new sourcing opportunities.

Supplier Management

-Maintain professional relationships with existing suppliers, including halal-certified vendors.

-Evaluate supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance with halal standards.

-Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure the best value.

Inventory & Documentation

-Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

-Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier documentation, halal certifications, and price lists.

-To ensure proper handling and storage of halal materials.

Budgeting & Compliance

-Assist in developing procurement budgets and cost-saving strategies.

-Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, industry standards, and halal certification requirements when relevant.

-Identify and report potential risks within the supply chain, including halal compliance issues.

Cross-Department Coordination

-Work closely with finance to verify invoices and resolve discrepancies.

-Coordinate with operations and other departments to understand purchasing needs, including halal-specific requirements.

-Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement systems and halal compliance processes.

Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

-Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar role.

-Experience in halal purchasing, halal certification processes, or working with halal-compliant suppliers is an advantage.

-Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

-Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office.

-High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
