Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement & Purchasing

    • Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with halal requirements where applicable.

    • Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.

    • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.

    • Conduct market research to identify pricing trends, halal-certified supplier options, and new sourcing opportunities.

  • Supplier Management

    • Maintain professional relationships with existing suppliers, including halal-certified vendors.

    • Evaluate supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance with halal standards.

    • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure the best value.

  • Inventory & Documentation

    • Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

    • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier documentation, halal certifications, and price lists.

    • To ensure proper handling and storage of halal materials.

  • Budgeting & Compliance

    • Assist in developing procurement budgets and cost-saving strategies.

    • Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, industry standards, and halal certification requirements when relevant.

    • Identify and report potential risks within the supply chain, including halal compliance issues.

  • Cross-Department Coordination

    • Work closely with finance to verify invoices and resolve discrepancies.

    • Coordinate with operations and other departments to understand purchasing needs, including halal-specific requirements.

    • Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement systems and halal compliance processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar role.

  • Experience in halal purchasing, halal certification processes, or working with halal-compliant suppliers is an advantage.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Knowledge of supply chain principles and procurement best practices.

  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office.

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
