Internship in Computer Science

Position Title: Computer Science Intern (IT & AV Support)
Duration: 4–6 months
Department: IT
Location: Acappella Suite Hotel, Shah Alam
Reporting To: IT Executive

Objective

To provide practical experience in IT support operations with additional exposure to AV setup for hotel events and functions. The intern will support both technical diagnostics and event-related AV equipment handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist IT Department with day-to-day troubleshooting (hardware, software, network)

• Provide support for setting up and testing AV equipment (projector, sound system, microphone, TV screen, etc.) in function rooms

• Ensure laptops, screens, cables, speakers, and lighting are correctly installed and functioning before events

• Help manage and maintain CCTV system, internet router/modem, and IT hardware inventory

• Support end-users (hotel staff) in login issues, email access, printer issues, and basic tech problems

• Report technical issues to supervisors and assist with resolution

• Document all setups, support actions, and issue logs for record-keeping

• Ensure all setups follow hotel SOP and safety guidelines

• Perform any other duties as may be required by management from time to time

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• Basic knowledge of computers, networking, and audio-visual equipment

• Willingness to assist during event setup hours (may include evenings/weekends)

• Physically fit and comfortable handling cables, moving equipment, etc.

• Eager to learn, with good problem-solving and communication skills

• Able to work both independently and in a team
