Job Purpose

To schedule, assign, supervise and assist in the up keeping of all housekeeping operation on the floor assigned to him/her to highest standard of cleanliness and maintenance and assisting in any assignment in/within the department whenever necessary promptly.

Primary duties and responsibilities

  • To supervise the activities of room attendants to ensure clean, attractive and well-maintained guest rooms, hallways and service area according to set standards in order to achieve prompt and courteous service.
  • To allocate daily work and any special assignment to the room attendants accordingly to the daily occupancy.
  • To check regularly the progress of each assignment and to assist if it necessary.
  • To make sure that all assignments are completed as scheduled for each shift.
  • To conduct daily briefing to room attendant and assist them with special requests from the guests and attention to their complaints.
  • To organize special and irregular cleaning tasks.
  • To maintain all machine and equipment in good conditions.
  • To check the cleanliness and maintenance of the following:

a) Vacant rooms according to reception’s report and to check/report of the variance.
b) The occupied and c/o rooms are cleaned on time and within standard required.
c) All suites and VIP rooms.
d) All corridors, stores, pantries, exit doors and cleaning equipment, trolley, etc.
e) Housekeeping staff workstation.

  • To ensure that all out of order rooms to be readied and released as soon as possible.
  • To report all maintenance defects in its correct procedures and ensure that they are rectified immediately.
  • To report immediately all missing ad damaged items to the Housekeeping (Executive Housekeeper) and Front Office and record in Lost & Found report, accordingly to policies and procedures
  • To be responsible for proper stock of linen and guest supplies for his/her assigned floors and conduct check on the stock level regularly.
  • To check the attendance, appearance and discipline of room attendants.
  • To conduct training to room attendants from time to time.
  • To carry out monthly inventories for guest supplies, equipment, utensils, linens, etc.
  • To ensure that all messages from shifts are noted down and message for other shifts are conveyed on the log book.
  • To conduct the duties assigned by superior from time to time.

Qualifications, experience and skills

  • Education: · SPM or Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year working experience in supervisory level or two to three (2-3) of related years’ experience in hospitality or similar industry.
  • Good English proficiency and fast learner.

  • Requires shift work over weekends, duty roster to be determined by HOD
