Gardener

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain the hotel's gardens, landscaped areas, trees and potted plants to ensure they are healthy and visually appealing.
• Perform routine gardening duties, including watering, pruning, trimming, weeding, fertilising, and planting.
• Maintain outdoor greenery in a neat and tidy condition.
• Monitor the health of plants and identify signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
• Apply fertilisers, pesticides, and herbicides safely and in accordance with established procedures.
• Replace damaged or unhealthy plants and assist in seasonal landscaping projects.
• Maintain gardening tools, equipment, and irrigation systems in good working condition.
• Ensure outdoor areas, walkways, and landscaped surroundings are clean, safe, and free from debris.
• Report any irrigation, drainage, or landscape maintenance issues to the Engineering Department or Supervisor.
• Assist with general outdoor maintenance and other duties assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or Management.

Job Requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance. Experience in the hospitality industry is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of plant care, pruning, fertilisation, and landscape maintenance techniques.
• Familiarity with the safe use of gardening tools, equipment, and landscaping machinery.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Responsible, hardworking, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Willing to work weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
