Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present food in accordance with the hotel's recipes, quality standards, and hygiene requirements.
  • Assist in the daily operation of the assigned kitchen section (Hot Kitchen, Cold Kitchen, Pastry, Banquet, or All-Day Dining).
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared and served consistently to the highest quality.
  • Monitor food preparation, portion control, and presentation to maintain established standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels, minimise food wastage, and report shortages to the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
  • Support menu planning, food promotions, and special events when required.
  • Train and guide junior kitchen staff and apprentices where applicable.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Sous Chef or Head Chef.

Job Requirements

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Professional Qualification in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant culinary experience, preferably in a hotel or reputable restaurant.
  • Experience as a Demi Chef or Chef de Partie is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene standards.
  • Passionate about cooking with strong attention to detail and food presentation.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
