Job Description

  • Follow all hotel administrative policies and procedures.
  • Update all guest profiles and ensure guest preferences are recorded before the end of each shift.
  • Encourage guests to complete guest satisfaction questionnaires.
  • Follow instructions given by the Shift Leader, Reception Manager, or Front of House Manager at all times.
  • Answer telephone calls and handle guest enquiries professionally and courteously.
  • Print the Night Reception reports and ensure all guest profiles have been updated.
  • Print registration cards for the following day and ensure all required supporting documents are attached.
  • Report any health and safety hazards immediately to the Manager.
  • Maximise every opportunity to increase revenue by promoting and upselling hotel products and services.
  • Check in individual guests, groups, and tour guests efficiently and warmly, creating a positive first impression while meeting hotel standards.
  • Stay informed about the hotel's facilities, events, and daily activities to assist guests with their enquiries.
  • Take a personal interest in guests throughout their stay and strive to exceed their expectations.
  • Be familiar with all room types and availability, and assist guests with reservations and booking enquiries.
  • Provide guest services such as currency exchange, safety deposit box assistance, and authorised cash advances.
  • Check out individual guests, groups, and tour guests efficiently while following correct cashiering procedures and ensuring all charges are posted accurately.
  • Respect guest privacy at all times and keep all guest information confidential.
  • Be familiar with hotel procedures, including housekeeping, lost and found, food and beverage operations, communication procedures, and fire and emergency protocols.
  • Be able to carry out manual reception procedures when the hotel's computer system is unavailable.
  • Operate the hotel's communication systems effectively.
  • Understand and follow all hotel credit policies and procedures.
  • Maintain good knowledge of all hotel products and services and actively recommend them to guests.
  • Ensure a complete shift handover is carried out, and all checklists are updated and completed before the end of the shift.
