Job Description

Job Posting: Junior Sales Coordinator — Hotel De'La Ferns, Cameron Highlands

Were you the friend who could talk the whole group into one more adventure? If you're warm, organised, and genuinely enjoy making people's plans come together, we'd love to meet you. This is an entry-level role for someone eager to learn the ropes of hotel sales and grow into a confident coordinator.

Company Overview

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Cameron Highlands, Hotel De'La Ferns is a boutique gem renowned for its timeless elegance and personalised service. Surrounded by lush greenery and mist-kissed landscapes, our hotel is a sanctuary where guests find solace in nature while experiencing refined hospitality. As part of our small, close-knit team, you'll get hands-on exposure to every side of the business — and plenty of room to develop.

What You'll Do

  • Handle Enquiries: Respond promptly and warmly to sales enquiries by phone, email, and WhatsApp. Prepare quotations and proposals for travel agencies, corporate, and government clients with guidance from the team.
  • Support Reservations: Manage room bookings, including group bookings and special packages. Learn to use our hotel management software to keep rates, availability, and occupancy up to date. (Exposure to SiteMinder or IDS PMS is a plus — full training provided.)
  • Assist with Weddings & Events: Help coordinate wedding and event enquiries, from package details and site visits to on-the-day logistics, working alongside our F&B, banquet, and operations teams.
  • Build Client Relationships: Keep in touch with existing clients, follow up on enquiries, and help ensure every guest feels looked after.
  • Coordinate Across Departments: Work closely with front office, housekeeping, and other teams so guest experiences run smoothly from booking to checkout.
  • Help with Reporting: Assist in preparing simple sales and reservation reports, and learn to spot trends that help the team grow.
  • Join Sales Activities: Support and occasionally accompany the team on sales trips, industry events, and client meetings as you build experience.

What We're Looking For

  • A friendly, can-do attitude and genuine interest in hospitality and sales (prior experience is welcome but not required).
  • Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a bonus.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); willing to learn hotel software.
  • Organised, detail-minded, and happy to juggle several tasks at once.
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel for occasional sales trips.

What You'll Gain

Hands-on training, mentorship from an experienced team, and a clear path to grow into a full Sales Coordinator role.
