Position Summary

The Audio Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio, video, lighting, and multimedia systems for events, meetings, conferences, and daily operations. The role ensures all AV equipment functions smoothly and provides technical support to deliver high-quality presentations and guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

1. Setup & Operation

  • Set up, test, and operate AV equipment including projectors, LED screens, sound systems, microphones, mixers, speakers, lighting, video conferencing tools, and playback devices.

  • Prepare meeting rooms, ballrooms, and event venues according to event requirements.

  • Conduct sound checks, video tests, and ensure optimal lighting and audio balance before every event.

2. Technical Support

  • Provide on-site AV support during events, meetings, and live presentations.

  • Assist presenters, guests, and staff with connectivity, media playback, and equipment usage.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV issues promptly to minimize downtime.

3. Maintenance & Inventory

  • Conduct routine inspection, cleaning, and preventive maintenance for all AV equipment.

  • Report faulty equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements.

  • Maintain inventory of AV equipment, accessories, cables, batteries, and spare parts.

4. Event Coordination

  • Liaise with event organizers, clients, and internal departments to understand AV requirements.

  • Recommend suitable AV setups based on the nature of the event (corporate meeting, wedding, seminar, live performance, etc.).

  • Ensure safety procedures and cable management standards are followed.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare equipment usage records and event reports.

  • Maintain updated manuals, wiring diagrams, and setup guides.

  • Support in preparing SOPs related to AV setup and operations.

6. Additional Duties

  • Assist with installation and upgrades of AV systems and networked control systems.

  • Support IT department for video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet) when required.

  • Provide training to staff on basic AV equipment usage.
