Hotel Finance & Account Manager (Hotel Qualified Accountants only)

Job Description:

1.     Preparation and finalization of annual financial statements, monthly and quarterly management accounts, monthly cash flow forecast and annual estimates for discussion with local and HQ Management. 
2.     Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
3.     Develop and maintain budgets in collaboration with various departments (e.g, sales, operations)
4.     Monitor expenditures and revenues to ensure alignment with budgeted figures
5.     Oversee the timely and accurate processing of payment to vendors and suppliers.
6.     Manage daily cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations
7.     Prepare cash flow forecasts and advise on investment opportunities for surplus funds
8.     Ensure the financial statements is compliance with Malaysia tax law (corporate tax, service tax, tourism tax, etc.)
9.     Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements
10.  Oversee procurement processes to ensure financial prudence in purchasing supplies and services
11.  Collaborate with the revenue management team to maximize room revenue through pricing strategies
12.  Analyze data from occupancy rates, pricing models and market conditions to inform decision-making.
13.  Provide financial insights to support long-term strategic planning for hotel growth and expansion
14.  Work with management on investment appraisals and capital projects
15.  Analyze hotel operational costs and work with other departments to implement cost -saving measures.

  

Qualification & Experience

1.              Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, MBA or ACCA preferred
2.              Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in Hotel Industry Finance, with at least 3 years in managerial position
3.              Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations and compliance requirement
4.              Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin in advantageous
5.              Discretion in handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
6.              Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), experience on accounting software and hotel-specific property management system is a plus.
