Job Description
- Provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service always, following Standards of Performance.
- Responsible for all the Band Members uniform and management uniform.
- Receives dirty uniform from the Band Member and in return issues clean ones.
- Receives clean uniform from the Laundry, checks for quality of cleaning and pressing, makes sure they are in good condition e.g. no loose hems, open seams, missing buttons, faulty zippers, and other damage. Follows up with any necessary repairs
- Reports missing immediately to the Laundry Supervisor, assures the uniform rapid return.
- Hangs or folds uniform by category of uniform number, department and size, completed as a full set.
- Takes count of new uniforms, checks their quality, labels with Uniform number the ones put into circulation, stores others in uniform storeroom
- Ensures uniform record cards are up to date with correct entries.
- Informs the Laundry Supervisor about shortages, replacement needs, and recommended discards.
- Takes care of alterations or repair for guest clothing on request, mends hotel linen as instructed by Supervisor.
- Keeps uniform - and sewing rooms tidy. Assures non- authorized staff does not access these areas. Locks counter window and door at the end of the work shift, returns key to Office Coordinator.
- Do the inventory every month and if its missing informed Laundry Supervisor and replaced if not available in the store ask Laundry supervisor or Assistant Executive Housekeeper to make order.
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Have a complete understanding and knowledge of Rooms related service and product.
- Ensure that all fluids and chemical are correctly used, as well as correct operational procedures for laundry machinery.
- Ensure all items are properly dried, pressed and ironed as required
- Sort, process, fold and store linen used throughout, handling both guest laundry and dry cleaning, as well as Band Members uniform.
- Report maintenance issues to Laundry Supervisor and Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
- Monitor operating supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage.
- Handle Band Members enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report Band Members complaints or problems to Laundry Supervisor. if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with Band Members.
- Ensure that the uniform room and surrounding area is kept clean and organized always.
- Be totally familiar with all equipment used within the uniform room and ensure all work practices are in accordance with the Workplace Health & Safety Rules and Hotel Standards.
- Maintain knowledge of the hotel and local area.
- Undertake additional duties as requested by the Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Executive Housekeeper, Laundry Supervisor and Hotel Management.
- Maintain a sense of urgency with whatever task is required
- Attend and comprehend all information discussed at the briefing sessions. If unsure, ask questions until you are sure. Assist team members if they are having trouble comprehending as well.
- Always follow the grooming standards as specified in the hotel handbook. The goal is to present a clean, professional and natural appearance in both attire and personal appearance.
- Be punctual, efficient and above all, courteous. Assume always a pleasing and helpful manner towards our guests. Never speak in a loud voice to another Band Member.
- Maintain good eye contact and posture with the guest always, without leaning.
- Be aware of your work schedule and give adequate notice whenever serious circumstances prevent your adhering to your schedule
- Be pro-actively involved in the hotel’s operation keeping up to date with events within the hotel
- Personally, ensure compliance with all relevant Workplace Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety rules and related Hard Rock Hotel Policies.
- Align working practices and day to day conduct with Hard Rock Hotel Vision, Corporate Values and Hotel Policies and Procedures.
- Be well versed and knowledgeable of Fire and Evacuation procedures as well as health and safety requirements in the Workplace.
- Assist your Laundry Supervisor and Band members in the performance of their role.
