Job Purpose
Oversee the Sales Operations of the relevant Country/Region.
Primary duties and responsibilities
- Liaise closely with the DOSM in line with directions provided by the GM and relevant parties to develop a marketing plan that identifies market niches and segments (Corporate Sales/Government Sector/ Travel Agent), i.e., the Kuala Lumpur (KL) area and other assigned areas
- Monitor and review sales production, adjust sales activities, account coverage, and sales priorities to achieve plan goals.
- Establish account qualification criteria, use market research and telemarketing resources to identify new and priority accounts, and assign sales to assure optimal coverage.
- Build business/market share by finding new ways to promote the company and participating in local events to increase Room and F&B revenue.
- Creative selling for guestroom, meeting facilities and dinner packages.
- RFP Accounts
- Optimize room utilization and yield Management by assessing room demand and supply.
- Uphold the responsibility for selected key accounts to ensures the continuity of business relationships and the potential for future growth.
- Attending client functions and designated parties to provide support, ensure guest satisfaction, and promote future business.
- Ensure that the administration is in line with SOPs for proper record-keeping.
- Ad hoc duties as assigned by DOSM/GM.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- At least 5-6 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry with knowledge of the market.
- Diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent qualification required.
- Functional knowledge of Sales and Marketing is essential.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team, drive for result.
- Excellent people, problem solving and communication skills.
- Literacy in software applications, preferably in travel and hospitality operating software.
