Job Description

This position is concerned with greeting the guest upon arrival, taking them to their tables, explaining any special promotion that may be happening and assisting the Supervisor and service staff with any other assistance they may need.

1.    To ensure that entrance area and display counters are clean, tidy, fresh and appealing, and
        that all display material is arranged in a neat and tidy fashion, free of any marks or damage.
2.    To ensure that all promotional material and flyers are neatly arranged, are clean and
3.    To answer phones clearly and politely in the correct manner, as is described in the service 
4.    To be aware of all in house information and happenings so as to give the guest the correct 
5.    To know the table numbers and their locations and be aware not to over load sections.
6.    To be aware of guests' names and address them accordingly on their return.
7.    To assist with the day-to-day general cleaning of the all tables, chairs, and equipment used for 
        the service of food and beverage items to the guest.
8.    To assist the service staff with prompt clearing of tables, during and after service to the guest.
9.    To have a full understanding and knowledge of all items that is offered on all menus and 
        beverage lists.
10.  To assist the service staff with the correct set up of mise-en-place and side stations, to ensure 
        that there is sufficient and correct equipment for the days trading.
12.  To maintain a friendly, smiling, pleasant image to all guests and staff alike.
13.  To report immediately to the manager any guest complaint or problem situation.
14.  To greet guests at the entrance of the Restaurant in a friendly and courteous manner and take 
        them to their assigned table. Explain any daily special or promotional items and present all 
        menus accordingly. As per the service standards.
15.  To take all reservations received by either the telephone or by walk in guests, and record all 
        information in the Restaurant reservation book.
16.  To ensure that whilst walking through the restaurant, that any guest who needs attention is 
        reported to supervisor or if needed waiter/waitress. So that the guest can be attended to as 
        quickly as possible.
