Job Title: Waiter/Waitress - 4-Star Hotel (Shah Alam)

Job Summary: The Waiter/Waitress at our 4-star hotel in Shah Alam plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor. The Waiter/Waitress will work collaboratively with the food and beverage team to ensure the highest level of service in our dining establishments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Guest Service:

    • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Assist guests in selecting menu items, providing recommendations, and answering questions about the menu.
    • Take accurate orders and relay them to the kitchen staff promptly.
  2. Table Service:

    • Set up tables with attention to detail, ensuring cleanliness and proper arrangement.
    • Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Monitor and anticipate guests' needs to ensure a positive dining experience.
  3. Menu Knowledge:

    • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
    • Stay informed about daily specials and recommend them to guests.
  4. Upselling:

    • Promote additional menu items, beverages, or special promotions to enhance the guest experience.
    • Upsell when appropriate, contributing to increased revenue.
  5. Order Accuracy:

    • Ensure all orders are accurate, complete, and presented according to the established standards.
    • Double-check special requests and accommodations for accuracy.
  6. Payment Handling:

    • Handle guest payments, process transactions accurately, and provide appropriate change.
    • Maintain a secure and organized cash-handling process.
  7. Cleanliness and Hygiene:

    • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the dining area.
    • Assist in clearing and resetting tables promptly.
  8. Team Collaboration:

    • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure smooth operation of the dining establishment.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues to provide excellent service.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a hotel or upscale dining setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service etiquette.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.
  • Basic math skills for handling payments.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
