Responsible for:

  • All Guest

 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY

  • Work together with the Associates to set-up and clean all Guest rooms and public areas in accordance with established standards;
  • Ensure all guest room linen, and uniforms are in good condition and always stocked adequately to support the smooth running of the hotel operation;
  • Know how to operate/use available Housekeeping machinery’s and chemicals according to established standards;
  • Ensure that the hotel’s public area, offices and surrounding are always cleaned and up to the hotel’s standard.
  • Set an example for the department by your own performance;
  • Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions;
  • Establish a climate of motivation and enthusiasm within your department;
  • Constantly seek to develop yourself within the department;
  • Have a deep understanding of the hotel’s Vision and integrate this into your actions;
  • Understand the policies and procedures pertaining to your department’s operation;
  • Communicate in a friendly, tactful and professional manner with Guests and fellow Associates;
  • Be informed and keep your supervisor informed of all matters that may affect your work, the hotel’s service or reputation;
  • Always present a clean and tidy appearance in accordance with the hotel’s grooming standards;
  • Be flexible and open to change in your job responsibilities, and/or roster to meet business needs;
  • Always extend friendly and caring service to every Guest that walks through our door;
  • Be a team player and maintain good relationships with fellow Associates;
  • Care about your work environment and make sure it is tidy and well maintained;
  • Your work is important. Pay attention to detail and do every task to the best of your ability;
  • Understand the Employee Handbook and comply with the standards it outlines;  
  • Be reliable and ensure you are at work on time and being certain and punctual at all times;
  • Know your job and constantly seek to develop your expertise by participating in company sponsored training programs;
  • Carry out  all professionally reasonable instructions given by your supervisor and use your initiative in the absence of instructions (your supervisor may not always be around to tell you what to do);
  • Know your role in case of emergency, such as fire, bomb threat, flood, etc.;
  • Care for Hotel property by using equipment correctly, take care when pushing maids carts and storage of linen and guest supplies to maintain standards and reduce costs;
  • Take part in uniform / linen inventories;
  • Know and strictly follow all established cleaning procedures;
  • Know how to operate/use available Housekeeping machinery’s and chemicals according to established standards;
  • Ensure the following procedures are implemented according to standards:
    • Key Procedure
    • DND (Do Not Disturb)
    • Baby Sitting
    • Room Discrepancy
    • Lost & Found
    • Room Safety Box
    • Loan Items
    • Lost & Breakage
    • Pest Control
    • Defect Item
  • Know and strictly follow the step by step procedure of uniform and linen exchange;
  • Ensure the stock for uniform and Linen is adequate
  • Perform many reasonable jobs as and when requested by your superior.

Requirement

  • Required language(s) Bahasa Malaysia and English (verbal and written).
  • Preferably 2 Year(s) of working experience in the hospitality industry and related fields
  • Energetic, dynamic, fast learner and confident personality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Must be willing to work on rotational shifts including working on weekends and public holidays when necessary.
