To champion all communications and branding concepts and strategies both within the hotel and external, thus maximizing hotels brand awareness in line with the hotel's positioning statement within the targeted markets.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To develop the hotels yearly communication plan in conjunction with the hotels yearly marketing plan so as to support and drive market penetration and overall sales effectiveness.
- To be the key champion in developing and updating media database, as well as relationships. Ensure media kit and database are updated by category and ensure the right key messaging are delivered to the right editor.
- To develop key press release by outlets or segment on a monthly basis, plans has to be developed and submitted 3 months prior. To develop key messaging that can drive impact and create brand or product differentiation.
- To champion Media FAM trips, ensure check-list are done properly prior to arrival, in-room amenities and welcome card prepared, as well as media kit.
- To develop and maintain close relationship with both local and major feeder market media contacts to maximise opportunities for exposure and develop not only awareness but third party endorsement of the hotel through these channels.
- To champion monthly press coverage analysis and press clipping report
- To update Public Relations on a quarterly basis, highlighting key press activities that have been achieved, highlight growth and advertising return in value.
- To champion media monitoring tools and address public opinions, as well as respond accordingly. In conjunction with online supportive tools such as Google Alerts and Brand Karma.
- To champion crisis communications management and develop supportive document and tools, to ensure crisis are contained and team members are able to react accordingly.
- To play key role and supportive to social media marketing and communications, ensure the right message are being delivered and in the right tone.
- Assist in building and maintain our content distribution network by way of social media channels.
- Managing a team responsible for building relationships and engaging with communities, online media and key influencers.
- Support Director of Sales & Marketing Internet Marketing activities, this includes, but not limited to – Email Marketing, website, SEO, SEM, analysis, social media, online PR and online monitoring.
- To be the champion in internal communications and ensure all colleagues are well briefed and well informed on key marketing activities.
- To support in developing key marketing plans and activities that will create differentiation in the market and support the hotel in achieving higher revenue.
- Marketing and Communications is an integral part of marketing and sales, being internal sales and exterior sales effectiveness, as the Marketing and Communications Manager you are to be the hotels ambassador for these concepts.
- To support in developing key sponsorship/partnership relationships with key marketing partners within local market to support the drive to access key databases within to maximise market penetration to potential customer bases. i.e. Amex, HSBC, Maybank, Cartier, Royal Selangor, etc.
- To monitor, develop as well as control distribution of hotel collaterals and publications where appropriate ensuring corporate I.D guidelines are applied.
- To support and develop in the production of Food and Beverage collaterals, advertising and promotional activities in conjunction with Director of Food & Beverage and Director of MARCOM.
- To be the champion of hotel “Branding” thus cascading communications that supports the hotels core/essence concepts within all communication methods.
- To support in developing hotels photographic library for quick reference, easy usage procedures with focus on being customer friendly. Photography should have a focus on the “WOW” factor to create impact, as pictures say a thousand words, out of the box concepts to drive the performance of this.
- To play a key role in the guest arrival experience for incoming VIPs, special groups and media contacts to ensure our influence on public opinions are par excellence.
- As a team member of Marketing & Communications you are required to support the team activities and projects.
SKILLS AND ATTITUDE REQUIRED:
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking required.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Dedicated to blogging and use of Facebook, Twitter or similar channels.
- Demonstrated creativity and documented immersion in social media.
- Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment.
- Be the eyes and ears of our brand as if your own reputation depended on it.
- Positive attitude and capability of looking from an outside the box perspective.
- Individual with experience in tech / content creation and whose job scope have been managing content creation, digital story telling, utilizing video as a medium for story telling with strong comprehension of data analysis plus managing customer account are encouraged and welcome to apply
