Job Description

Job Summary:
The Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead and oversee the maintenance operations of our hotel, ensuring the optimal functioning of all systems and facilities. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in VRF air conditioning systems, preventive maintenance, and exceptional people management skills.

Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance Operations:
   - Oversee the maintenance and repair of the hotel's equipment, systems, and facilities, including but not limited to VRF air conditioning systems, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
   - Coordinate and prioritize maintenance tasks to ensure minimal disruption to guests and staff while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
   - Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules and procedures for all equipment and systems.

2. VRF Air Conditioning Expertise:
   - Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and expertise in VRF air conditioning systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
   - Perform regular maintenance and inspections on VRF systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
   - Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team in handling VRF-related tasks.

3. Preventive Maintenance:
   - Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all equipment and systems to extend their lifespan and minimize breakdowns.
   - Regularly assess and update preventive maintenance schedules based on equipment performance and manufacturer recommendations.

4. People Management:
   - Lead, mentor, and motivate the maintenance team to ensure high performance, productivity, and a positive work environment.
   - Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team's technical skills and safety awareness.
   - Delegate tasks effectively and ensure proper staffing to meet maintenance needs.

5. Budget Management:
   - Assist in developing and managing the maintenance department's budget, focusing on cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.
   - Monitor expenses, track expenditures, and propose cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager, preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Expertise in VRF air conditioning systems, installation, maintenance, and repairs.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- People management and leadership abilities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
