The Chief Engineer oversees all Engineering operations, maintenance, mechanical and electrical works of the hotel.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance programme for the entire hotel and routine servicing programme for all equipment and fixtures
- Control cost of labour, supplies and repairs in order to maximise a productive utilisation of resources
- Schedule work to be in line with the budget established which includes major renovation works
- Champion the initiatives to manage utility cost (energy, water, gas, etc) in the goal to support the mitigation of climate change
- Liaise with the relevant stakeholders on any arising issues pertaining to Engineering matters of the organisation
- Responsible for work performed by external contractors (appointed in accordance with company’s procedure) in the hotel and to ensure that all job scope are delivered as per expectation
- Maintains the hotel’s firefighting system and ensuring that the system is put into regular tests
Requirements
- Tertiary education in related field
- Knowledgeable and experience in the maintenance of the hotel buildings and its fixtures
- Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of individuals
- Independent and capable to maintain consistent performances under pressure
- Proven 5 to 7 years track record in a hotel of comparable standard in similar capacity
- Possess knowledge of energy conservation
- Must have the right to work in Malaysia
