PURPOSE
Receive and process all payment methods for restaurant, courteously and efficiently in accordance with restaurant standards. Settle all guest checks in the system and maintain accountability for all financial transactions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu and beverage prices in the restaurant.
- Be familiar with table / seat / station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation and dress code of the restaurant.
- Maintain complete knowledge of cashiering system and manual systems and procedures.
- Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all restaurant policies and service procedures.
- Be familiar with daily reservation, expected business, menu items and daily specials.
- Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies, forms and resource materials; maintain cleanliness at all times. Report shortages to supervisor.
- Answer restaurant telephone with correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
- During duty shift, always available on designated cashier area and ensure adequate coverage and maintain proper restaurant grooming standard.
- Courteously acknowledge all guests arriving / departing the outlet, however busy and whatever time of the day.
- Input orders into system and distribute to Servers.
- When system is down, obtain manual checks and follow all Accounting procedures.
- Process all payment methods in accordance with Accounting procedures and policies.
- Settle all checks opened under own I.D. Settle all Servers checks before leaving; report open checks to outlet supervisor/manager.
- Complete designated cashier reports and distribute in accordance with accounting procedures. Report any shortage to manager on duty.
- Balance and drop receipts according to accounting specifications.
- Perform job functions on cashiering honestly.
- Assist restaurant staff as assigned or when it deemed needed.
- Attend all meeting or training as required by the management.
