Job Description

Responsibility and Authority

  • Oversee the financial management of all departments in the Hotel.
  • Maintain proper internal control over revenues of all departments.
  • Ensure all necessary books and records are being properly maintained as Required  by law.
  • Monitor the financial performance of all departments and advise the Management of any remedial actions required.
  • Review and evaluate accounts personnel periodically.
  • Develop working knowledge of all procedures and operations as applicable in the Hotel.
  • Prepare and compile annual budget information on operating, cash flow, capital improvements, special repair and maintenance as well as the preparation of project expenditure for individual projects.
  • Maintain work order system to determine actual against budgeted expenditures.
  • Responsible for accurate preparation of all accounting information which must be completed on specific dates.
  • Review financial statements to determine what remedial action can be taken to correct any unusual variances.
  • Prepare statistical analysis and special reports as required by the Management.
  • Prepare annual budget for approval
  • Compare continually the budgeted expenditure against actual expenditure and report to the General Manager when unusual variances in individual items occur so that remedial action can be taken.
  • Analyze the food & beverage, house and hotel reports and highlight to the General Manager the unusual variances that should be reviewed.
  • Approve all accounting forms to be used in the Hotel.
  • Supervise the storage and destruction of records in according with retention schedule. To review proper control and security procedures to be sure that they are in force and effective.
  • Supervise the preparation of depreciation and amortization schedules.
  • Supervise the preparation of various governmental schedule and tax reports for various governmental agencies.
  • Review periodically the quality of work originating from the Accounts Dept for accuracy, quality and timeless.
  • Supervise the maintenance of all lease and sub-rental records and to take appropriate action on any delinquent accounts.
  • Negotiate, review and renew all insurance policies and handle all insurance claims to ensure that they are being properly processed.
