Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support:
- Respond promptly to IT-related requests and emergencies from staff and guests.
- Provide on-site and remote support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist with the setup and troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment for meetings, events, and daily operations.
System Monitoring & Maintenance:
- Monitor computer systems, networks, and peripheral devices for malfunctions and errors.
- Ensure reliable internet connectivity throughout the hotel, addressing any network issues promptly.
- Perform regular maintenance, updates, and upgrades on hardware and software systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage and maintain hotel management systems, including property management software (PMS).
Installation & Configuration:
- Install and configure new hardware, including computers, servers, printers, and other peripherals.
- Deploy and update software applications such as Microsoft Office, antivirus programs, and operating systems.
- Set up and manage in-room technology solutions, including smart TVs, Wi-Fi connectivity, and IoT devices.
Audiovisual & Event Technology Management:
- Maintain and support audiovisual equipment, including projectors, sound systems, microphones, and video conferencing tools used in meetings and events.
- Ensure all audiovisual systems are functioning correctly before and during events, addressing any technical issues promptly.
- Coordinate with event planners to understand technical requirements and provide necessary support.
Troubleshooting & Repairs:
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to IT infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Implement repairs and system updates based on diagnostic assessments.
- Generate detailed error, diagnostic, and repair reports for documentation and analysis.
Training & Support:
- Provide training sessions for staff on the use and maintenance of various computer systems, software applications, and audiovisual equipment.
- Develop user guides and documentation to assist staff and guests with common IT tasks and troubleshooting.
F&B Event Support:
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, and equipment as required.
- Serve food and beverages during functions and events, ensuring high standards of service.
- Support the F&B team in maintaining cleanliness and organization in event areas.
- Address guest inquiries and requests related to F&B services during events.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest developments in hardware, software, networking protocols, and diagnostic techniques.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the hotel’s IT infrastructure and guest technology experiences.
- Identify opportunities to streamline event support processes and enhance service delivery.
Requirements:
- Educational Background:
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in an IT support role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Experience in F&B services or event support is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Strong knowledge of IT hardware, including computers, servers, networking equipment, and peripheral devices.
- Familiarity with hotel management software (e.g., PMS) and audiovisual systems used in conference and event settings.
- Experience with network administration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of maintaining and supporting projectors, sound systems, and other audiovisual equipment.
Service Skills:
- Basic knowledge of F&B operations and service standards.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to event setup and service, including lifting and arranging equipment.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, guests, and vendors.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a dynamic environment.
Additional Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or relevant IT certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and during events as required by hotel operations.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices to ensure the protection of hotel data and systems.
- Basic food handling certification or willingness to obtain one may be required.
